- How to contact us
The short version. If you request a quote, we pass the details you give us to licensed insurance carriers and agencies so they can quote you. That is the point of the service and it is the main way your information moves. We do not charge you, we do not sell your information for purposes unrelated to insurance shopping, and you can ask us to delete what we hold at any time.
1. Who we are and what this covers
COVRCAR is a website and service operated by MIND SPOT INC, a Florida corporation with its principal address at 3476 Shallow Cove Lane, Clermont, FL 34711, United States. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean MIND SPOT INC.
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through covrcar.com, any subdomain of it, and any page, form, text message, or email we operate under the COVRCAR name. It does not cover the practices of the insurance carriers, agencies, or other third parties you may be connected with. Once your information reaches them, their own privacy policies apply, and you should read those separately.
COVRCAR is not an insurance company, agency, or broker. We do not underwrite, issue, price, or service insurance policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Identifiers. First and last name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and ZIP code.
- Quote details. Date of birth, gender as shown on your licence, marital status, homeownership status, current insurance status and carrier, driving history you report to us including accidents, violations, and DUI history, and a self-reported credit band.
- Vehicle details. Year, make, model, primary use, ownership or finance status, and where applicable a VIN.
- Communications. Anything you send us by email, contact form, or text message, including support requests and privacy requests.
- Consent records. The exact consent language displayed to you, whether you ticked the box, and the date, time, page, and IP address at the moment of submission. We keep this to demonstrate compliance with telemarketing law.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your Social Security number, driver's licence number, bank account details, or payment card details. We never take payment on this site.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and time zone.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL, exit page, clicks, form field progression and abandonment, and approximate location derived from IP address at the city or region level.
- Campaign data. Click identifiers, sub identifiers, UTM parameters, and similar tracking values attached to the link that brought you here.
- Lead certification data. Where enabled, independent session recording and certification services such as TrustedForm or Jornaya LeadiD create a record of your visit and consent event. That record is held by the certification provider and referenced by a certificate URL or token.
Information we receive from others
- Marketing partners and publishers who referred you to us, including any information you gave them on a prior form.
- Data validation services that check whether an email address, phone number, or address is deliverable, active, and correctly formatted.
- Carriers and agencies that tell us whether a referral was accepted, quoted, or closed, so we can be paid and can measure quality.
3. Where the information comes from
Directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the site, and from the third parties listed above. We do not buy general consumer profiles or build advertising profiles about you outside the insurance shopping context.
4. How we use information
- To show you rate information for your ZIP code and state.
- To process your quote request and connect you with licensed carriers and agencies that write policies in your state.
- To contact you about the request you submitted, including by email, telephone, and SMS where you have given the relevant consent.
- To create and maintain an account for you where one is issued.
- To validate submissions, prevent fraudulent or automated form filling, and enforce our terms.
- To measure which marketing sources produce genuine enquiries and to bill or pay partners.
- To improve the site, debug problems, and understand how people use it.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims.
5. How we share information
Insurance carriers, agencies, and marketing partners
This is the core of the service. When you submit a quote request, we transmit the information on that request to one or more licensed insurance carriers, licensed agencies, or marketing partners that place business with them, so that they may prepare a quote and contact you. They act as independent controllers of that information and use it under their own privacy policies. Depending on your responses and your state, a request may be sent to more than one of them.
If you did not tick the telephone consent box, we tell recipients that they may not call or text you, and we transmit that flag with the record.
Service providers
We use vendors who process information on our behalf and under contract, including hosting and content delivery, analytics, email and SMS delivery, telephony, customer support tooling, form and identity validation, lead certification, and fraud prevention. They may use the information only to perform the service we asked for.
Legal and corporate
We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; where necessary to investigate suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our terms; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by commitments no less protective than this policy.
6. Sale and sharing for advertising
Some state privacy laws define "sale" broadly, to include disclosures of personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, and define "sharing" to include disclosures for cross-context behavioural advertising. Under those broad definitions:
- Our transmission of quote requests to carriers, agencies, and marketing partners, for which we receive a referral fee, may be treated as a sale of personal information.
- Our use of advertising and analytics cookies and pixels may be treated as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age. You can opt out of both categories at any time. See Your Privacy Choices.
We do not sell or share sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
7. Calls, texts, and email
If you tick the telephone consent box on our quote form, you give prior express written consent for us and for the insurance carrier and agency marketing partners identified at the point of consent to contact you at the number you provided regarding auto insurance and related products. That contact may be made using an automatic telephone dialing system, an artificial or prerecorded voice, or SMS text messages, and may occur even if the number appears on a federal or state do-not-call registry.
Consent is never a condition of buying anything, and it is not required to use this site or to see rate information. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
To stop contact: reply STOP to any text message, tell any caller to add you to their internal do-not-call list, click unsubscribe in any email, or write to privacy@covrcar.com. Requests made to us stop contact from us. Because carriers and agencies contact you under their own authority, you should also make the request directly to whoever contacted you. We will pass your request on where we are able to.
Our marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. We may still send you transactional messages about a request you made, such as a sign-in link or a confirmation.
8. Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your inputs, measure traffic and conversion, and in some cases to deliver advertising. Categories in use:
- Strictly necessary. Session handling, security, load balancing, and form integrity. These cannot be turned off through the site.
- Analytics. Aggregate measurement of traffic, page performance, and where visitors drop out of the form.
- Advertising and attribution. Identifying which campaign delivered a visit and, where enabled, supporting retargeting.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site.
Global Privacy Control. We treat a valid GPC signal transmitted by your browser as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser and device, in the states where that is required.
9. Your choices
- Do not submit. The rate lookup on the homepage works with a ZIP code alone and requires no personal details.
- Leave the consent box unticked. You can still submit a request and be matched by email only.
- Opt out of sale and sharing. Use the form on Your Privacy Choices, or send a GPC signal.
- Ask us to delete. Email privacy@covrcar.com. We will delete what we hold, other than records we are required to retain, such as consent and do-not-contact records.
- Correct what we hold. Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
10. State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared and the categories of recipients; to obtain a portable copy; to correct inaccurate information; to delete information; to opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
California residents should read Your Privacy Choices, which contains the additional CCPA and CPRA disclosures, including our disclosures for the preceding twelve months and how to submit a request through an authorised agent.
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have comparable rights under their own state statutes and may exercise them the same way. Where a state provides an appeal process for a refused request, we will tell you how to appeal when we respond.
Nevada. Nevada residents may direct us not to sell certain covered information by writing to privacy@covrcar.com with "Nevada opt-out" in the subject line.
We verify requests by matching the information in the request against what we already hold, usually an email address or phone number from a prior submission. If we cannot verify you, we will tell you why. We do not charge for requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
11. Retention
We keep quote request records for as long as needed to provide the service and then for up to five years, which reflects the limitation periods that apply to telemarketing claims. Consent records and do-not-contact records are kept for at least five years, because deleting them would remove the evidence that you consented or the record that tells us not to contact you. Website analytics data is kept in aggregate form. Where we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
12. Security
We use transport encryption, access controls, and vendor due diligence appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
13. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and our quote form is not available to drivers under 16. If you believe a minor has given us information, write to privacy@covrcar.com and we will delete it.
14. Third party sites
Our site links to sites we do not control, and after a quote request you will deal directly with carriers and agencies. We are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
